Treatment and Restitution of Cultural Heritage. Objects, human remains, knowledge
Ethics and Cultural Heritage Series – I, 2021
Edited by Marco Arizza
The first issue of the Series welcomes the proceedings of the two webinars promoted by the CNR Research Ethics and Integrity Committee and organised by CID Ethics in November 2020 (“Ethics and treatment of human remains in archaeology. Guidelines and codes of ethics for research, documentation, protection and valorisation”) and April 2021 (“Returning archaeological heritage. Ethical and legal issues”).
These webinars gathered multi-disciplinary experiences in order to compare methodological approaches and work advancement of groups of scholars involved in the archaeological research sector (excavation, documentation, diagnostics, study, publishing, valorisation), on two central themes: treatment of ancient human remains and restitution of archaeological heritage. The volume also includes contributions by prominent personalities from the scientific sphere who formed the theoretical basis for the development of the reflections.
