Webinar – The value of ethics in the new concept of museum

November 15, 2022 (10 a.m. – 12 noon)

The Interdepartmental Center for Research Ethics and Integrity of the CNR in collaboration with the Institute of Cultural Heritage Sciences (ISPC) of the CNR are organising the webinar, promoted by the Research Ethics and Integrity Committee of the CNR, on “The value of ethics in the new concept of museum”.

The event opens with the institutional greetings of Peter Keller, Director General of ICOM (International Council of Museums), a prominent figure in museum related matters, followed by the keynote speech by Alberto Garlandini, whose ICOM 2020-2022 presidency was marked, among other worthy initiatives, by the approval of the updated definition of Museum in whose new formulation ethics and sustainability appear for the first time.

Researchers, Eva Pietroni and Emanuel Demetrescu of the ISPC-CNR, working on the topics of storytelling and digital humanities, are invited to animate the discussion, while the conclusions are entrusted to Marco Arizza, who will moderate a section dedicated to a discussion with the scientific community, through questions from participants and debate among the speakers.
