Webinar – Healthcare education and vaccine hesitancy: what is the role of schools?

November 29, 2022 (2.30 p.m. – 4 p.m.)

The Interdepartmental Center for Research Ethics and Integrity of the CNR in collaboration with the Umberto Veronesi Foundation (FUV) are organising the webinar on “Healthcare education and vaccine hesitancy: what is the role of schools?”.

The event presents data from the survey carried out as part of the Umberto Veronesi Foundation’s ‘Io Vivo Sano Prevenzione e Vaccini’ (I Live Healthy – Prevention and Vaccines) educational programme, which was implemented in spring 2022 to promote correct scientific information on the subject of vaccines.

The survey was carried out with the aim of analysing the phenomenon of vaccine hesitancy in the educational environment and the role schools can play to counteract it and promote vaccination adherence. The initiative involved around 200 classes, 5.169 students and 327 secondary school teachers, distributed in 8 regions: Lazio, Campania, Puglia, Calabria, Sicily, Emilia-Romagna, Veneto and Friuli.

The session was opened by Annamaria Parola (FUV) and Santino Vincenzo Mannino, while Andrea Grignolio and Cinzia Caporale presented the data from the pilot study.
