The SerGenCovid-19 project is designed to collect healthcare data and perform serological tests for the epidemiological assessment of the diffusion and characteristics of the virus in a large population sample.
A further objective is the preservation of biological serum and DNA samples in a biobank in order to carry out additional investigations in the genetic field at a later stage of the project.
CID-Ethics is entrusted with the supervision and ethical monitoring of the project (Ethics Mentorship) in order to identify measures to protect the rights of participants starting from the design phase (Ethics by Design).
The research activities specifically concern the elaboration of the following tools: i) information sheet and consent form that includes the possibility of differentiating consent specifically for each objective (dynamic consent); ii) information on the processing of personal data; iii) preliminary impact assessment document; iv) project privacy policy, in collaboration with the Institute of Information Technology and Telematics (IIT) of the CNR.
Mentoring activities also include periodic ethical review reports and evaluation of the ethical sustainability of the project.
